Hi everybody,

A few of my apps have preferences set to display brightness at 100%. My brightness level changes throughout the day as I use Power Hero to manage it (this saves me valuable space in Apt's default preferences). Let's say I open the Pics application and the screen changes to 100%. I'm looking for a way, upon exiting the app, to change the brightness level *back to what it was*, regardless of the default brightness level specified in Apt. So far I've tried having my Treo open the brightness console and copy the current value when the Pics application starts, but I've not found a way to "paste" that brightness value back in when the Pics application exits. Any ideas.

Love apt … can't believe I've gone so long without knowing about it.

Hi again. Yes, you can do what you want. I've used the following:

2 NavUp Brgt Up%_ & fill in the number you'd like. This will give you ability to deal w/all sorts of situations & still be able to adjust, you want to make it either 2, or 1 NavUP, so you can still use NavUp to navigate..

Naturally, you'll want to have the corresponding & opposite setting for NavDn, to change the brightness back down when needed…

Also, check the examples section here & search in the 1src.com Apt forum for Apt & then search for Brightness in that thread.

Some have used variables & the Idle trigger in re: the brightness issue… but the above should do it for you…

You could use Time triggers to change the default brightness throughout the day, each one is only one *Defaults* line. Maybe that's still too
much space taken up.

If you can handle changing the Prefs application philosophy, you could try deselecting 'Use Default Prefs' in the settings screen.
This returns all prefs to the previous values on exit, if there are no prefs for the new application. If I remember right.

In the next version, maybe worth waiting for, you could use Brgt/Copy, which copies the current brightness to *Default* Prefs, maybe
with a -Lnch trigger.

Yeah, I think that Brgt/Copy is worth waiting for. I would deselect 'Use Default Prefs,' but then I'll loose the ability to launch the Apt menu from anywhere and I really need that. Thanks for the suggestions.

No, the Use Default Prefs only affects how the Prefs screen settings are applied.
