Pent is really knocking out those fixes & updates, so I am just adding this thread so he doesn't have to…
Really happy that almost all problems on the Treo650 have been solved…….except one……
I am unable to Call from Tabs 2 & 3 in Tags 2, although Tags 1 is working fine.
(But with all the extra lines I can hang on for a while longer)
"I am unable to Call from Tabs 2 & 3 in Tags 2, although Tags 1 is working fine."
— This is not a problem on my 650.
"- bugfix: treo: action cat entries for last 4 lines were not being set on startup"
—Fix works
The intermittent wake-up problem upon connecting/disconnecting charger still occurs.
thx

Techaholic, just to check I understand the problem:
*Default*: 0/Hrd1/Call/Apt/p
*Tag 2* (screen Two): p/Tag/App/Calc
Doesn't launch Calc ?
Could you try calling it from a different trigger please, and also try calling from a non-*Default* app ?
I guess you already checked the names match (case matters).
Thanks,
Pent

Edit: also a tag with the same name in Tags 1 will take precedence.

@ Pent & Techaholic,
I tried *default* 2/Hrd2/Apt/Call/p
*Tag2* (scr2) p/Tag/App/Clock (I'm using Dmitry's nuROM & I have deleted Calc in favor of more powerful & flexible Parens)
& it worked just fine on my TX, however, I don't have anything in Scr1 of Tag2, so maybe it has something to do w/the amount of lines used in a given TAGnumber…. or the number / type of assignments you have made to that button… also, I've had intermittent probs in the past w/buttons press lengths & seem to recall it has to do w/how the h/w is working- so, Techaholic, how old is your device?
BTW, & OT, when trying this out, I noticed that in App Selector, my apps & icons were all jumbled. Accessorizer had icon for Datebk6 etc. It did go away after navigating around Apt, but I thought you'd want to know, Pent. I have been getting unusual warning msgs fm apps, like native Prefs telling me that Luach (a Hebrew lunar/solar calendar app) that I have integrated w/system calendar had timed out of its trial period. It is something that I have registered a very long time ago…. & the reg code was even waiting for me in the reg screen, so I just tapped register again; but that timed-out trial msg should never have happened…. Pent, any ideas on what would cause that?
Also, a small buglet in b5, when a 'fill the argument box' comes up, the focus for the cursor is NOT on the 1st line, this is a small annoyance, but again, I figured you should know…
ATB,
technical1
No idea on the timeout, will watchout for the icon displacement.
Which argument box do you mean (maybe when you click on the trigger argument button ?) and what do you mean by the first line, as far as I know they all have only one line.
Pent
Have tried all your suggestions. I have Tags1 with data in all 3 tabs and data in tab 1 of Tags2. None of them have similar names. I have installed 1.2 and the same problem so it wasn't an installation error.
Am I missing something with the use of the Acc function? It comes up with "currently not functional" when I try to access it. I have Accessorizer installed.
Thanks for your assistance.
Techaholic
Tags: I think it must be something to do with what you have configured (not saying it's not a bug), since others can't reproduce. I can't really help. If you stumble on the condition let me know. Could be worse, you still have 4 screens of tags!
Acc: I disabled it due to stability concerns, which turned out likely to be unfounded. I decided to re-enable it when I find time to make some space for it, but I'm on holiday now :-)
Pent
Will keep playing to see if I can figure it out. If so i will let you know. I do have a lot of stuff on the Treo and I have a lot of Apt configurations on one button. We'll see what happens.
In the meantime enjoy your break. You deserve it.
I FIGURED IT OUT
Tags 2 Tab 1 had empty lines.
I had configured it as a list to access common macros and, to organize the list I had filled every argument with ">" but had not given every line an event so that it left me with (what I thought) were the same as empty fillers. Which of course they were not.
Putting in "empty fillers" solved the problem.
Yeeeehah!
Pent,
A bug of 1.2b5, in the app list of App action category, the icon and the app do not match, it seems the icon is 2 line lower than the app.
Probably it is caused by the Tag1 and Tag2 icons.
Vincent
cmlx,
So you got this too! Good to know it wasn't just due to some unrelated crash I had previously.
the above note to cmlx was fm technical1
I recommend regain option "accesorizer" and makes detection of shutdown.
Shutdown is detected, it's just wakeup that's the problem :-) (if you mean on the 650/680)
Pent
I have TX.
Shutdown is detected? How?
for example…
I just published 1.2 final, it's now the 'official' version.
Apologies to those who still have bugs. The Treo 'disable' bug I don't like to leave, but
I've tried everything I can think of without being able to reproduce it.
Back to 1src :-)

Thank you for your great job, Pent:)
It seems that apt cannot simulate a pen:tap in a table(e.g. in supermemo, the digits under the label 'test').
Macroplay does this well, though. I wonder if the underlying simulating mechanisms are the same. Can anybody
drop me a hint?
Notell
Can you use Apt Nav actions to move to that spot in your table, and then select it with an Apt HK action? Or does typing the first letter in the table's line take you to the right spot?
Also, if you do have access to macroplay, you can create a command-bar shortcut (eg / 5) in MP for that difficult sequence, and then call it up via command bar macro in Apt.
I dont know about supermemo but SkinUI causes me Apt-based problems choosing some options in popup menus in Preferences panels (with pen taps and other selection methods too).
And it turns out you cant turn off SkinUI for a prefs panel! So Im actually creating two macros (turn SkinUi off and turn it back on) to call up when i want to do perform these otherwise undoable actions.
EDIT: answering this got me thinking, and I checked out whether MacroPlay could circumvent the SkinUI block on pop-up element selection. It does. So I'm going to use a Macroplay/Apt fusion approach now.
This also suggests that Apt and Macroplay do have different approaches.
good luck!

geoff,
I'm just curious, if SkinUI is gonna be an issue, why not save time/trouble by having the macros to enable/re-enable it in one of the Tags…? Seems like that is exactly what they are for, when you need to re-use the same stuff.
I have been looking at MP as well, as you say, for fusion…. but took it off b/c the upgrades here were flying left & right & I wanted to focus on one thing…
Does MP allow you to see apps on SD card & does it have capability to export a list its macros into a memo?
Can you share any tips on how to best make the Apt/MP fusion work?
Can I use it to just record strokes needed to go to my backup program (RescoBackupPro) & only pass on the tap needed to start, or do I have to babysit it & wait to finalize when the b/u is done?
technical1
Thank you, geoff:)
The control in the table of supermemo which I mentioned above, is rather stubborn. I mean, you cannot
navigate to it. The only way is to tap there, with your finger or stylus. And that's why I want to use Apt
to facilitate this operation.
There is an inborn shortcoming of MP. The destined application will be launched before MP can replay the recorded actions, that is, MP cannot run in a DA-like way:-(
However, this problem isn't crucial to me.
Good luck!
Notell
*Notell
<that is, MP cannot run in a DA-like way:-(>
true, but part of your macro could be to return to the same state from which you launched the macro, which would you give you the equivalent of DA behaviour - but maybe im misunderstanding your needs here.
*Tech1
Yes I was putting those SKINUI macros into Tags.
MP can call up SD apps. No exporting. You can duplicate Macros within MP though.
See Macroplay manual here: http://stashbox.org/126471/Readme.html
Lots of fusion ideas:
- basic one Ive already talked about before is calling up a pre-recorded MP macro (which can have a c-bar trigger) from within an Apt macro by virtue of the c-bar action in Apt.
- You could call up the main page of Macroplay with an Apt Button press. This page lists all your macroplay macros. A big advantage for me in my advanced years is that you can NAME these macros, even up to short sentence length.
Thus you can have a list of 11 very descriptively labelled macros just one button press away. Well thats one Treo page's worth, more if youre willing to scroll.
- And there's more fusion….those macros in the MP list need not just be macros created in MP. Just as you can use Apt to call up an MP macro, you can use MP to call up an Apt macro! But you need to be a bit thoughtful.
You have to get the sequence right :
- first create macro in MP that will simulate the Apt trigger (e.g. inputting the number 5 in app X)
- Now write the Apt Macro involving app x (at least to start with), and give it the trigger "Input is number 5"
You cant do it the other way around, because when you start recording the MP macro, it will launch the Apt macro during recording, which itself STOPS the recording process.
You could use MP to start a backup, but I dont think its designed to detect when something like that finishes and then do something else. Never tried. It doesnt record graffiti strokes either, but does capture taps.
cheers

geoff,
Thanks for the info. I have the demo & it doesn't show any apps fm my card's /palm/launcher dir… the readme is in the zip, but doesn't cover anything about VFS support… at least that I noticed… & it seems that the page you pointed me to is that same doc…
"But it does capture traps" pls define traps…
I just bought MP thru their website & paypal. Had probs w/my 'net connection when I was supposed to tap on 'return to Xvisionnow… & I hope that happenin g won't hold back my reg codes & full version of MP5pro…
TIA,

(I am not sure it is the good place to ask for this now that 1.2 is published, but as the discussion is on macros now…)
Pent, when your vacation is over, or whenever, maybe you can have a look at the partial Mykbd code which Alex Pruss published at http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=92189&package_id=178964
You may have the key to the cycle character which triggers macros in it (I was wondering about the end of the file SkinT3Res.h, with e.g. "#define MACRO_KEY0 300").
(still looking for a way to launch Mykbd macros from Apt, I tried Macroplay and do not like it much, you cannot edit a macro, it just repeats your taps and press)
Forget Mykbd macros, Alex Pruss replied that there was no way to launch his macros from a third party app at the moment. He might create a macro library some day though.
Tech1:
SD card apps- Im just going on my own experience, not info in the manual- I gave that link just for general info. It is indeed the manual supplied with the app. I uploaded to stashbox because its not otherwise on the web.
"But it does capture traps" pls define traps…
Is that qn meant for me? I cant remember mentioning traps anywhere.
Have fun with MP. It has at least allowed me to finally have a macro that disables Keyguard. I launch it via Apt, grouped on one HK along with two other keyguard macros that are pure Apt.
Oooops! my bad. I saw you write that it captures taps & I read traps… better get the paramedics to get my foot out of my mouth on this one!
t1
Apt may not be able to launch mykbd macros, but according to the macroplay manual, their macros should be launchable:
"MacroPlay has an API that allows other 3rd party apps to ask MacroPlay to run/play a macro. An example of such app is Voice Call. With Voice Call, users can now run a macro using voice commands. If you are interested in integrating MacroPlay into your app, please contact Johnny Ixe."
One can indeed do this already using the c-bar+character action method Ive talked about before, but if you start assigning all your c-bar character combos to macros, you can run into problems, since many apps of course use such combos too
