newbie - how to install?

Hi folks,

I just installed apt.prc on my TX. I only see the *default* in the pulldown menu - nothing else. It seems like there's something wrong, or perhaps I don't understand how to use it? Any help is greatly appreciated. I looked through the tutorials, but somehow am still lost.

Hey folks….am v-e-r-y new to the awesome world of Apt. A fantastic program I can't seem to get enough of. I have recently encountered an interesting and very frustrating glitch with my TX. A problem I was not having until I installed Apt v2.0.2. Since doing so I've been unable to successfully launch Drive Mode. When I attempt to initiate "Turn Drive Mode On" my device immediately it takes me to the "Turn Drive Mode Off" window which lasts maybe a half second and then shuts off. I have toggled disable and enable and tried the process once again but always with the same results. If there's anyone who can help me resolve this exasperating situation I would truly appreciate the support. I thank you all in advance for your consideration.

So, there are still other people using a TX other than me… interesting… :-)

I can only tell you that I have Apt installed, and I tried entering DriveMode in my TX and it seems to be Ok, the problem you described does not happen on my TX.

Does your problem go away if you disable Apt?

Do you have any setting in Apt (global, or specific to DriveMode), that could be causing this?

Hey there Pgr. I thank you for your timely response to my inquiry. The problem was not resolved after disabling Apt. I tried working the disable and enable feature from several angles and other programs that ultimately got me nowhere fast. But alas I have managed to eliminate the problem. However it was not quite what I initially had in mind…..but apparently it solved the problem….the dreaded hard reset followed immediately by a few hours of software-gymnastics was exactly what the TX had in mind for me. NVBackup to the rescue! Since the hard reset I have been extremely vigilant about what I have reloaded (or not reloaded!) onto the device. At any rate it's full speed ahead! But again thanks for the support and reply just the same. Here's to wishing Happy Holidays to all!!

@Pent: nice to hear from you! Sorry about that flu - let's hope you get better before Christmas.

I'm sure we will meet again in Androidland when my TX runs out of breath. Palm Pre seems to be a dead end and so Android will probably be my next option. But I am decided to stay with my Palm until it breaks!
